Fire Codes and Burn Permits
Open Burn Permits
Residents of the Boulder Heights and other unincorporated areas in the district may burn wood and slash outdoors with a Boulder County permit under certain conditions. For the latest rules and regulations, and for a burn permit application, call the Boulder County sheriff’s fire management office at (303) 441-4500 or visit Boulder County Burn Permits website. Note that it can take 20 days to receive a permit. If you would like some advice about open burning, call Chief Benson or Mike Palamara at (303) 440-0235.

Carriage Hills Estates
Per HOA Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs), residents of Carriage Hills Estates are prohibited from burning wood or slash in their property - all slash pile burns must be conducted and supervised by a state-certified Burn Boss on staff with Boulder Mountain Fire or other state-certified individuals. Authorized organizations must follow state and county regulations and permitting requirements for pile burning.
